“The photographer was polite and pleasant, but unfortunately I am extremely disappointed with the final result. I want to make it clear that my disappointment has nothing to do with whether I think I look pretty in the photos or not. My issue is genuinely with the quality of the images, especially the lighting, contrast, colours and overall editing. The natural light in Edinburgh was beautiful that day. I even took a simple photo with my phone about ten minutes before the session, in the same area, and the sky was bright blue, the light was beautiful and the colours looked natural. Yet in the professional photos, that natural brightness is almost completely lost. The images look much darker, heavily contrasted and less natural than the actual conditions. I also felt that the photos were taken quite quickly, almost just for the sake of taking them, without enough attention to small details that can make a huge difference in a professional photoshoot. For example, in several photos my necklace is twisted, and there is a thread sticking out around my neck and behind my back. These are very small things that could easily have been pointed out during the session with a simple comment such as, “Your necklace is twisted” or “There is a thread sticking out.” Unfortunately, that thread completely ruins some photos that could otherwise have been very nice. Overall, I am very disappointed with the final quality, particularly the treatment of the natural light and the lack of attention to detail.”
