Do photographers in Cape Town speak English?

Yes, every Smiler photographer speaks English, it's a requirement to be listed. You'll be able to discuss the meeting point, timing, and any specific shots you want in the booking chat before the shoot, no translation needed.

Can I choose a specific photographer in Cape Town?

Yes, you can book directly from a photographer's profile if a portfolio style catches your eye, or skip the browsing and get matched with a vetted local for your chosen package. Both options carry the same fixed pricing.

How are Smiler photographers in Cape Town vetted?

Every photographer passes identity verification, a portfolio review, and a check on their equipment before being listed, then has to hold a 4.0-star minimum rating to stay on the platform. Drop below that and they're removed, not just flagged.

Are the photographers local professionals or freelancers?

They're freelance local professionals who work with Smiler rather than staff photographers, held to Smiler's standards on every booking: 48-hour delivery and the 4.0-star minimum. If one has to cancel, the booking is offered to the rest of the Cape Town team first.

Do you have photographers for proposals and engagements in Cape Town?

Yes, photographers here regularly shoot proposals and engagement sessions at spots like Camps Bay and Clifton 4th Beach, scouting position in advance and working discreetly so the moment stays a surprise. Book the package length that suits how long you want coverage.

How far in advance should I book a photographer in Cape Town?

Most travellers book about a week ahead, which is enough lead time for most packages. Sunrise slots at popular spots fill first, so book earlier than a week out if you specifically want that light.

Can I hire a photographer in Cape Town for just 30 minutes?

Yes, the 30-minute package covers up to 6 people and delivers 25 edited photos for €249. There's also a 15-minute express session for up to 2 people if you need something even shorter.

Is there a money-back guarantee if something goes wrong?

Yes, if a photographer has to cancel, the booking goes to the rest of the Cape Town team first; if the shoot genuinely can't go ahead at all, you get a full refund. That protection applies to every booking, direct or matched.
